From Lanzarote to the American Dream: the trajectory of a young talent with his sights set on professional golf
Two years later, however, he returned, this time with a clearer idea of the game and a keen desire to learn. Thus, he began to forge a career that today places him among the best young golfers in the country. Currently, he features in the International Amateur Ranking, becoming only the second golfer on the island to accomplish this achievement.
My golf style depends a bit on the situation. Sometimes you have to be aggressive, and other times you have to be a little more cautious.

The influence of his mother, who worked at the Costa Teguise golf course, was a key factor in his development. Thanks to her, his childhood was closely linked to the environment of this sport. Almost without realising it, the winter afternoons and long summer days spent hanging around the clubs and greens turned him into one of the greatest emerging talents of Canary Island golf. “Little by little I began to gain confidence in my golf and started to enter competitions on the Canary Islands. In a short time, I saw I was achieving good results,” recalls Isaac.

His development is the result of a combination of personal effort and the guidance of various coaches, both local and from elsewhere. He himself admits: “I have taken something positive from all of them that has helped me in my career.” Those who know him highlight his aggressive style of play and his ability to fight for every shot, never giving a ball up for lost. This combative mentality has led him to stand out on the international amateur circuit.

If I had to describe the Lanzarote courses to a colleague from the United States, I would tell them that they are very unique courses, with very special and unique characteristics.
His recent triumph in the Peñón Cup is a clear demonstration of his competitive character, delivering a spectacular third round that consolidated his leadership and confirmed his sporting maturity. “I think it was the best round of my career,” he says with conviction. He has successfully combined his academic work with the demands of training and competition, a combination that has allowed him to grow both on and off the green.
Next year, Isaac will begin a new stage in the United States, where he will begin his studies thanks to a sports scholarship awarded for his achievements in golf. This experience will not only give him the opportunity to grow academically, but also to compete with some of the best talents in the world in a highly demanding environment. This is a key step on the road to his big goal: to become a professional golfer.
Training on the Lanzarote courses has brought added value for him. The demanding nature of these courses, especially marked by the constant presence of the trade winds, has given him a competitive advantage that he has been able to exploit both regionally and nationally. Courses such as Costa Teguise Golf and Lanzarote Golf have played a key role in the development of this talented Canary Island player, who first picked up a golf club when he was just four years old, not even knowing what it was for, and who has now become a reference for the sport in Lanzarote.
