With the participation of 18 boats, the 5th edition of this nautical challenge has started
Marina Lanzarote left a spectacular atmosphere with the start of the fifth edition of the Rallye Iles du Soleil, organised by the Grand Pavois Organization in collaboration with Calero Marina. Lanzarote is once again chosen for the start of this competition, as it did in 2017.
Up to 18 international registered boats, with a strong French presence, have decided to compete in this sporting event which will connect Lanzarote, Mindelo (Cape Verde) and Guadeloupe.
This is the special atmosphere so characteristic of this Rallye Iles du Soleil in which, beyond the times, the important thing among the competitors is to complete this arduous task in which the experience of this fantastic journey that is able to unite different cultures.
This is why not all of the participating boats have professional competitors. The president of the Grand Pavois Organisation, Alain Pochon, emphasised this when, at the presentation ceremony, he stressed that they were working to include less experienced sailors, as well as the integration of families with children.
To this end, the organization of the V Rallye Iles du Soleil has managed to be a competition that meets the maximum safety requirements as could be seen during the first days of the competition. The latest cartographic data from this Monday place the “Association for…” in first place, followed by the crew of the “Mahoa”, and the “Stella” in third.
