In recent years cycle tourism has been gaining more and more fans in Europe and discovering new places by bike has become one of the most fun and healthy ways to travel. The island’s climate, topography, low traffic density and landscapes are some of the highlights Lanzarote offers to those who love to travel on two wheels. More and more tourists are coming to the island in search of routes that give them new experiences, whether for the simple fact of enjoying a day out on a bike or to improve their sporting performance. Lanzarote sports destination
Lanzarote has become a benchmark as a training destination for numerous teams and professional athletes who spend their training seasons on the island, and raise a buzz about it on their social networks by sharing images and experiences. At the end of February, the Spanish triathlete Javier Gómez Noya spent a few weeks training here and recognised that “Lanzarote is one of the best places in Europe to train for the cycling segment because of the great roads and low levels of traffic.”
The Movistar Team cyclist, Lluís Mas declared on one of his visits to Lanzarote that “the island has the right infrastructure to host a concentration of the best international cycling teams due to its climate, terrain and infrastructure.”
